Vivek Chhetri,TT, Darjeeling, July 8: President Pranab Mukherjee will visit Darjeeling for three days from July 12. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee who is likely to reach the hills on July 11 is scheduled to welcome him. 
On July 13, Mukherjee will attend the Bhanu Bhakta birth anniversary celebrations organised by the state government at Chowrasta at 3pm. 
The next day, he will attend the annual general meeting of the Darjeeling Tea Association before leaving for Bagdogra on July 15. 
An official said: “Mamata will receive the president at Lebong helipad on July 12. At 5pm, there will be a state reception for him at Chowrasta.” 
The GTA has deferred its Bhanu Jayanti programme that was supposed to be held on July 13 to July 22. 
“We have decided to postpone it keeping in mind the visit of President Pranab Mukherjee. On July 13, the GTA will hold a small event and garland the statue of Bhanu Bhakta at Chowrasta,” 
GTA Sabha member in charge of information and cultural affairs, Binay Tamang, said.
