Prashant Acharya, EOI, 31 July, Siliguri: Women’s clothing in India varies widely and is closely related to local culture, religion and climate. To promote India’s unique traditional attires, Siliguri’s well-known designer, Shreya Agarwal, has decided to organise a fashion show in her hometown. The show, named ‘Spring n Summer Fashion Show 2016′ aims to provide a platform for upcoming models and attract youngsters to Indian attire. It will be held on August 3 at Club No 17, City Centre, Siliguri.

Shreya, who earned fame at a very young age with her hard work and dedication, believes ‘Work is Worship’ and for her there is no word called ‘impossible’.
According to Shreya, Indian attires are so rich and attractive that we do not have to turn towards Western outfits. She says, “Our culture is very rich and well recognised by eminent personalities the world over, including people attached to the international fashion industry.
We should respect our culture and tradition by wearing Indian dresses.”
Model Sandhya Mitra from Bangalore will be the showstopper at the show where guests from north Bengal and Sikkim will get an opportunity to see the latest Summer ‘n’ Spring dresses designed by Shreya.
Siliguri girl Sandhya has started her career in modelling from Bangalore and wants to highlight Siliguri in the international fashion arena.
Anita Pradhan, head of Yakthung Hair and Beauty Academy, who has taken the responsibility for the make-up of 15 models, said the show will surely get good mileage.
Sana Basnet, Shreejana Rasaily, Shristy Pradhan, Manisha Pradhan, Liza Gajmer, Puja Chhetri, Kalpana Sharma and other local models will get the opportunity to walk on the ramp for the first time with  Shreya, and they are proud they will be promoting Indian culture and tradition.
